Life in Buhimba camp in Eastern Congo
2

This is Buhimba camp in Eastern Congo. This camp is the size of a small town. Of the 1.3 million people internally displaced in the country, nearly 12,000 live here.

Most fled their homes and traveled vast distances to wait here when fighting between armed groups broke out in October and November of 2007. The recent "war" that people refer to, started in 1998 and lasted till 2003, but violence and insecurity still impact children's lives.
