As a South Pacific Children's Champion Sponsor, you'll be helping us to help children in our part of the world - in Fiji and Papua New Guinea .

Each year, 11 out of every 100 children under five die of preventable diseases in PNG - diseases like malaria, diarrhoea and malnutrition. Save the Children trains volunteer health workers to provide basic health care and promote good health practice. Each year, these local women treat over 60,000 people, who would otherwise have no access to medical services.

The cost of education is often a huge barrier for the poorest families in Fiji. As well as tuition costs, children are required to purchase their own textbooks - a real burden for low income families with several children. Our Children's Champion Sponsors provide textbooks to under resourced schools that are hired out to children for a minimal charge, and the school subsidises the charge for the most disadvantaged families. In Fiji, our Children's Champions are also helping children access clean water and adequate sanitation facilities.

You can help us to reach more children and ensure that they have the chance of a better start in life. Our Children's Champion Sponsors donate just $25 per month, or more. You will receive newsletter updates on our work in the South Pacific and a receipt at the end of the tax year.
