Save the Children week will take place September 28th - October 4th this year. We are excited about New Zealanders getting together and celebrating our work. We will have street collections around the country so please look out for us and support us generously.

This November Save the Children is giving you the opportunity to photograph our valuable work during a five-day trek through the stunning Himalayan Mountain ranges of Nepal.
This 13-day adventure will take you to places far away from the usual tourist routes. During the trek, you will have ample time available to take photographs of picturesque mornings and capture portraits of the Himalayan people. Your photographs of Nepal will be featured and accredited in Save the Children’s publications. Most importantly, you will be assisting the vital work of Save the Children.
Following the trip up to five of your pictures should be submitted to Save the Children in high resolution and JPEG versions. They will be judged by Simon Woolf of Photography by Woolf, Wellington. For more information on the photography competition please email Lucy Mitchell on lucy.mitchell@savethechildren.org.nz

On May 6 thousands of children around the world celebrated World Kids Colouring Day, a day of creativity to raise awareness for Save the Children’s worldwide campaign Rewrite the Future. New Zealand is one of 18 countries who took part in this global event, initiated by Staedtler, to encourage children to celebrate their creativity and create artwork to auction off to their friends and families. Save the Children visited Mt Cook school in Wellington to join New Zealand kids who got involved.
