Location: Goroka, Papua New Guinea
The Child Rights Resource Team supports Save the Children in its goal of becoming a child rights-based organization, a role model for child participation, and an advocate for child rights in Papua New Guinea. The child rights program aims to create avenues for children to be heard with regards to their rights as defined in the Convention on the Rights of the Child. The Technical Adviser – Child Rights position is based in Goroka but requires frequent travel to rural communities, major centers in PNG and overseas. This vanguard position coordinates the creation and implementation of innovative projects which will advocate for and improve the situation of child rights both within the organization as well as throughout the country. Liaison, representation and advocacy across all echelons of PNG society are key functions of this role. Determined leadership and a willingness to be an agent of change are critical.
