East Africa Food Crisis

Millions of people are in need of vital humanitarian aid across East Africa.

Back-to-back droughts have left hundreds of thousands of children severely malnourished. Now, up to 22 million people across East Africa urgently need your help.

Somalia is now on the brink of a major food crisis. Severe food and water shortages have killed livestock and driven families from their homes.

The drought is forcing children in Ethiopia to drop out of school, leaving them at risk of early marriage and forced migration.

While in Kenya, hundreds of thousands of children are acutely malnourished, with hunger levels expected to worsen over the coming months.

We must act now to prevent another disaster.

The situation in Somalia has sharply deteriorated. More than 50,000 children are now facing death.

2.7 million

In Kenya there are 2.7 million in need of immediate food assistance.

Approximately 600,000 children in Somalia, Ethiopia and Kenya are in need of treatment for severe acute malnutrition and this number is expected to rise.

14 million

More than 14 million people across the Horn of Africa now facing severe shortages of food and water because of the impact of the drought on crops, animals and water sources.
