Every child has the right to survive, to learn, to be protected, and to know what to do in an emergency. How to survive in a crisis.
15-year-old Nith from Laos needed skills to stay safe after her village was hit by landslides caused by heavy rain. Roads were blocked, making travel unsafe, power lines collapsed, and homes and schools were badly damaged. Because Nith had been part of the Safe Schools programme, she knew exactly what to do.
“Before joining the project, I didn’t know how to protect myself. Now, I’ve learned how to respond to emergencies like storms, landslides, and fires. The storm-escape activity was my favourite because strong storms often hit my village. I can now help my family by leading them to safety.”
Donate now to help other children like Nith know what to do when disaster strikes. Your support will give children the skills they need to survive in an emergency.
