What Save the Children is doing to fight global hunger and why we need your support
Today, 45 million children under 5 are suffering from acute malnutrition. One in five deaths of children under 5 are attributed to severe malnutrition, the most extreme and visible form of undernourishment. Severe acute malnutrition weakens the immune system and turns childhood illnesses into deadly diseases. But, it is preventable and treatable.
Save the Children works in 116 countries around the world, providing support to children and communities on a truly global scale. With the help of local partners, we deliver lifesaving supplies and treatments to respond to acute malnutrition, while also working hard through long-term programming to help communities grow their own climate-resilient food and crops.
If we are to end child hunger we will need as much support as possible. You can help children fight for their childhood and feed their futures. You can be part of a community that stands with the world’s most vulnerable children.
