What is World Water Day?
The UN Convention on the Rights of the Child states that every child has the right to the best possible health, this includes access to clean water. World Water Day is an annual UN observance day that highlights the importance of freshwater, with the theme in 2021 of “valuing water”. This resource was created to shine a children’s rights lens on water issues and can be used in all units relating to water and climate. It focusses on the arts, book recommendations, current affairs and children’s use and access to water around the world.
